Education
also extends to the staffing of the facility. Under the supervision
of adult professionals, Treasure provides team-building and
leadership opportunities to a small group of dedicated students via
a working student program. Students learn and practice all aspects
of horse care and are rewarded with lessons, opportunities to ride
recreationally and in clinics and shows as well as fun trips around
the US and Canada. Students are motivated by the possibility of
working their way up "through the ranks" and also learn to mentor
one another.
The defining theme of life at Treasure is
education. We are fortunate enough to find ourselves in the midst of
stimulating discussions and cutting-edge scientific advances.
We invite you to join us!

Board of Directors:

Recognizing that a program with as much breadth
and depth as ours requires considerable leadership and oversight, we
have recently established a Board of Directors. It includes:
President and Facilities
Manager:

Jacqui Byron loves the challenge and hard work
associated with an operation as large as this. Among her many
talents, Jacqui has been a Protocol Officer in the US Army, a real
estate agent, has a background in banking and retail and has over
thirty years in horses; the last twenty-five professionally. She
studied for three years in Weisbaden, Germany with Dr. Diehl as well
as with many notable instructors in the US. She teaches thru 2nd
level dressage, also long reining, general horsemanship and western
pleasure.
Vice
President:

Dr. Brad Smith: Of the non-horse persuasion, he
actually owns a couple but has little time to enjoy them, though he
has a strong appreciation for the animal. Aside from being a
stockholder in the corporation, he lends us an intellectual, novice
equestrian and objective point of view which is extremely valuable
in this type of business. He keeps us connected to the outside
world!
Susan Urbanczyk, Asst. Manager, Trainer,
Instructor

Susan has spent her life riding, teaching and training Hunters and Jumpers. She started with horses in Fairfield County, Conn. under the experienced eye of Victor Hugo-Vidal and Susan Toll. She then moved to upstate New York where she continued at her parents show facility as teacher/trainer under the guidance of Butch Manley. In later years Susan returned to Fairfield County and West Chester, NY, as trainer, teacher and to show. Her experience with such a variety of horses as trainer and catch rider has taught her that you can not ride any two horses the same. In recent years she has been studying dressage and focusing on the bio-mechanics of horse and rider. Susan is committed to pain free horses and riders who look forward to working with their equine partners.
Board Member and Advisor:

Sue Reed has twenty-five years experience in the
field of Human Resources. She ran the department for Operations at
Key Bank for seven years and then moved on to create and manage the
Human Resource Department for Pine State Trading, Inc., a
multi-million dollar producing corporation, for the last seventeen
years.
